Part 1 of our favors had to be done: Golf tees. Since Cathy's parents have owned a golf course since she was 7 and Matt is a PGA golf pro (coincidence!) We gave each guest little bags filled with 3 personalized golf tees. We used GolfSmith.com
This was actually a favor that a lot of people took home, since most of our guests golf (most of our groomsmen are golf pros!) so it was something they could use!
Our 2nd favor kept Cathy in mind...owning a horse, riding and showing :) We have hired a pastry chef to make horse cookies. She will be bagging them, and then we will be tying them with personalized ribbon (green with pink writing) that we ordered online at E-Favormart (see vendor review). Each guest got one at their seat.
We also did a candy buffet! :) it was a huge hit, and I recommend doing one. If you need help or advice, let me know! I will say that all of our containers were either stuff we had around the house, or borrowed all from family members...ask around and see what you can borrow! You could save a lot of money. It also looked really cool to have different shapes and sizes of containers! I got canvas sheets from Walmart ($3.00 for a pack of 2...we used the other for our 'Thank You' sign to hold for thank you cards) and then wrote "Love is Sweet" with fabric pen and put dots around the edges. The stand is from Walmart also, you can find these where they sell photo frames.
Our FANTASTIC CAKE!
Cathy's mom does cakes as her side business. So....as far as cake....this was really easy :)
We wanted a tall cake. We had 5 tiers of yummyness! Our flavors were cherry chip (the anniversary and bottom tiers), red velvet, carrot cake and orange swirl. The bow on the cake mocked the bow on Cathy's dress Everyone talked about how pretty and delicious it was...many people got to have more then 1 piece, and we had some leftover for the party the day after!
